Fun facts about the chameleon
The ones Sammy likes best. She tells them in the game, too.
Its tongue shoots out quicker than a blink and can reach farther than its whole body is long.
Each of its eyes moves on its own, so it can see almost all the way around itself.
It creeps along slowly and sways from side to side, so it looks like a leaf in the breeze.
Its toes are joined into two bundles, so its feet grab twigs like a pair of tongs.
The tall helmet on its head may help drops of dew roll right down to its mouth.
It changes colour mostly to show how it feels or how warm it is, not to hide.
It won't drink from a water bowl, it only licks little drops of water off leaves.
It has no ears on the outside and hears very little, so it counts on its eyes instead.
Riddle
Can a friend guess it?
Read the clues to someone, one at a time, without saying the animal. How many clues do they need? Fewer is better, just like in the game.
I live in trees and bushes in hot, dry Arabia, and I hardly ever touch the ground.
I won't drink from a water bowl, I only lick little drops of water off leaves.
Each of my eyes moves on its own, so I can see almost all the way around me.
My tongue shoots out faster than a blink and reaches farther than my whole body is long.
I change my colours to show how I feel or how warm I am.
Sammy might be thinking of a chameleon.
In Thought Zoo, Sammy picks an animal and you ask her yes-or-no questions to find it. You'll find the chameleon in the Desert adventure.
